How can we help?

Copy History is intentionally simple — open it, and it keeps everything you copy. Below are answers to the questions people ask most. If yours isn't here, email us and we'll get back to you within a couple of business days.

Why does iOS show a "pasted from" banner?
iOS shows that banner whenever any app reads the clipboard — it's a built-in iOS privacy feature, and Copy History can't disable it. You can stop the banners by going to Settings → Apps → Copy History → Paste from Other Apps → Allow.
Why aren't copies captured when the app is closed?
iOS does not allow apps to read the clipboard in the background. Copy History only captures while it's in the foreground — bring the app to the front when you want to save something new.
Where is my history stored?
Everything lives on your device only, in the app's sandboxed local storage. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing syncs to iCloud, and nothing is shared with third parties.
What's the difference between History and Saved?
History is auto-captured and capped at the 500 most recent entries (oldest unpinned ones are evicted). Saved snippets are entries you create manually with a label — they live forever until you delete them.
How do I delete everything?
Tap Clear in the top-right of the list to wipe your history, or uninstall the app to remove all stored data permanently.
Why did an old entry suddenly disappear?
Once you reach the 500-entry cap, new copies push the oldest unpinned ones off the list. Pin an entry to keep it forever, or save it as a snippet for the strongest guarantee.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy, simply explained

Last updated: May 29, 2026. This policy applies to the Copy History iOS application published by Mark Utility Labs.

🔒

Short version: Copy History keeps everything on your device. There is no account, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. Nothing you copy ever leaves your phone.

1. What data the app handles

The app only touches data you create or capture inside it:

2. How that data is stored

Everything lives in the app's sandboxed local storage on your device (React Native AsyncStorage). The 500 most recent history entries are retained; pinned entries and saved snippets are never auto-evicted. Deleting items inside the app removes them permanently, and uninstalling the app removes all stored data.

3. What is NOT collected or transmitted

It's worth being explicit about the absences:

4. The iOS "pasted from" banner

Because Copy History reads the clipboard to save your copies, iOS may show a "pasted from" banner. This is an iOS privacy notice, not data leaving your device. You can allow paste silently under Settings → Apps → Copy History → Paste from Other Apps.

5. Children's privacy

Copy History is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect data that could identify a user of any age — because it does not collect or transmit personal data at all.

6. Changes to this policy

If material changes are made, the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
